    Hello & Happy Monday!!

We all know that I cook full time. However, I also have an innate knack for decorating and designing! Food involves design and is in many ways an art. So needless to say, I love to create whenever the chance presents itself. Creating is therapeutic, fun to do with your loved ones, and adds personal touches rather than just purchasing something already put together. Leaves and pinecones can be picked together with friends and family and it absolutely cuts costs during a time when we spend out with preparing holiday dinners and parties.

While I love fall arrangements, I don’t love paying upwards of $50-60 for something that’s going to lose its luster within weeks. Instead I gravitate more towards making my own and putting a more affordable aesthetic spin on them by using real fall foods.

What I love about these DIY candle holders is that even the glasses themselves are accessible and affordable, you can fill them however you like, with whatever you like and can modify the contents to fit the current season. Being that the effort involved is minimal and the cost is low, you can create plenty to fill your home and even offer them as gifts to your friends and loved ones.

Although I use them as decorative pieces throughout my home I make sure to also create ones that are featured in the bathroom to offer a more pleasant aesthetic experience.

Many overlook that room as guests don’t spend an ample amount of time in that area. By taking the time to dress up your bathrooms to be more festive, it provides a more comforting experience and you don’t lose the holiday energy by simply stepping into a bathroom.  For bathroom designs I like to use natural scented options such as cinnamon sticks, fresh fruit and pinecones. It not only adds esthetic appeal and evokes a feeling of the holidays, but it offers a natural fragrance without having to reach for toxic chemicals to fill your home. You can fill them with candles or if concerned for them being a fire hazard just use them rather for decor.

Instead of having large containers of sprays or bulky outlet oils, you can create these beautiful effortless glass decorations that provide aesthetic appeal and mitigate unwanted smells.

In keeping with the tradition of creating a pleasant bathroom experience while entertaining for the holidays, I also reach for Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong® Mega Rolls. The product is of the highest quality, provided in larger sheets, making them last longer, thus allowing you to attend to your guests needs and also mitigates waste making it a more sustainable option.

  • Clean the glasses so that the clarity will showcase the contents of the glasses.
  • Wash and dry produce
  • Fill smaller size items first to fill the bottom and add the items gradually to ensure that you occupy as much space as you can
  • Make a pocket in the center to hold the candle and continue to fill
  • Wrap the glasses with ribbon for an extra added touch and position them in the bathroom for guests.
  • Splash the orange slices with water every so often to prevent them from drying out as quickly.

Tips: If you have a dehydrator or the addition time to dry them out. Top with cinnamon and bake on 200 degree for 45mins. Oranges will dry out and still provide an aroma.
