Hello & Happy Tuesday!!

I had the opportunity to collaborate with Colorado based company Mineral Fusion to feature their natural cosmetics and skincare line with the Eat Drink Shrink Contributors. From non toxic nail polishes to an array of eye shadow pallettes, Mineral Fusion offers a lot of diversity in their products. Although they are hypoallergenic, free of parabens and synthetic fragrances, they are not organic or 100% cruelty free due to the Carmine that can be found in some of the cosmetics as well as bees wax.

Below you’ll find reviews on a myriad of Mineral Fusion products brought to you by the Eat Drink Shrink Contributors and get multiple perspectives on product quality! To view all of the vegan products click here

I reviewed a variety of different cosmetic products by Mineral Fusion and am happy to report my findings. Although all products are hypoallergenic and free of parabens and synthetic fragrances, not all products are technically “vegan”, so that is something to consider if you are interested and supporting only purely vegan manufacturers. Out of my selection, all of the lip products contain beeswax and carmine, both of which are derived from animals.

Overall, I was satisfied with the quality of the products. My favorite items are the eye shadow trios and both powder foundations. My observes “pros” and “cons” of the products, as well as the shades I sampled, are as follows.

I received a handful of products from Mineral Fusion – many of them where not compatible with my skin tone, however I had the opportunity to play with the different color combos on a few of my make-up clients. The eyeshadows are easy to apply and very blend-able, which is always a great thing. I especially loved the color Prism for an under brow highlighter color. I am a fan of the lip gloss wands consistency – they’re a perfect blend of smooth and shiny, while not being too sticky or overly glossy.

When paired with the lip pencil, the lip gloss wand stayed on for a long time – roughly three to four hours and even sustained a Vinnie Marino Vinyasa Flow class – In other words, I did not have to reapply my lip color like I usually every hour or two. I was most excited to review the nail polish – I received a bottom and top coat with the nail color Blushing Crystal, which is a lovely light pink. I was pretty impressed as the polish, as not only is it a gorgeous color, it did not chip until day four… and with other lines that many nail salons use, it’s usually chipped by day two.

I love that this line is available nation wide at Whole Foods!

It started off a little rough figuring out what I could and could not use that was vegan with Mineral Fusion, due to carmine (crushed beetles for pigmentation) and beeswax ingredients in their products. After having to hand off all of the make-up products sent to me to fellow Eat.Drink.Shrink contributor, Heather, Mineral Fusion sent me the products that I knew were vegan…nail polish and nail polish remover!

I was the lucky recipient of eight amazing vegan nail polishes and their vegan, acetone-free nail polish remover to review! All of their polishes don’t have harsh smells, feel and look great, the colors are amazing; the finish is smooth and lovely.

They are not only vegan, but free of many common chemicals in other nail polishes. I truly enjoyed sampling these nail polishes and couldn’t be happier with them!!

The colors are pretty close to their pictures on the website and on the paper hand out they sent to me, which is always a plus for those buying online. I got to sample Lagoon, Coral Reef, Grotto, Meadow, River Rock, Citrus Cove, Garnet and Midnight Ridge!! They are all equally amazing!! I absolutely love all of the bright and fun colors with summer just around the corner, but honestly… I would wear these colors in any season!! They are all just so darn fun and vibrant!! I love lagoon and coral reef, because those are colors I usually gravitate towards. Garnet is amazing because it is so classy and elegant. I am in love with midnight ridge and river rock, they are neutral enough to match anything you wear.

Meadow and Grotto are so much fun! The nail polish remover is vegan and acetone free as I mentioned, but it also is non-drying and gentle. The smell isn’t harsh and I truly love how quickly it removes polish! The packaging is so sleek and wonderful and they fit perfectly a little pocket in your bag, if you choose to bring them with you anywhere. I really can’t say enough wonderful things about Mineral Fusion’s vegan nail polish and nail polish remover! I am very impressed with the longevity, the durability or lack of chipping, the lack of chemical (which means healthier nails), the fun colors, the packaging, the look, the touch, the lack of harsh smells and the products overall! Summer is coming! Get those mani-pedis and use Mineral Fusion’s vegan, cruelty free, amazing nail polishes!!!

(Erins Video Review: Please note that there was a mix up on our behalf with product requests and non vegan items were supplied)

On testing Mineral Fusion I was excited because I have had great results with the other organic makeup lines! On testing the liquid foundation I was not really impressed. It was almost like a mud mask! I would put it on my fingers and proceed to rub into my face and it would clump apart and come off in flakes.

The powdered foundations were good and didn’t seem like a bad product. I did have to apply them more throughout the day because I would notice it would be melting off! Eyeshadows and blush I absolutely loved! The eyeshadows did make my makeup brushes a bit oily. Yet the colors of them were great and stayed on pretty well throughout the day. As well as the blush!

unnamed-3Mascara not my favorite. I was excited to try because I had such great results with another company. This one made my eyes look clumpy and at times it actually burned my eye. Making my eye water and then I had to redo my foundation. Overall I would utilize the eyeshadow blush and powder foundation. It looks like they had other liquid makeup so maybe I will check that out. Though I know the sheer tint was not for me.
