Neuth Skincare Review

Dating back nearly 2000 years ago..

Cold creams were a go to skincare product used by women worldwide

Its safe to say that every teenager once owned Noxema and if they were a cold cream person they graduated to the Ponds brand cold cream lol

I don’t know about you, but I LOVED using cold cream. (especially during winter months)

Wether its just a nostalgic feeling, or the fact that I love cold cream, I was excited to discover Neuth Skincare natural cold cream!!

(sans mineral oil)

Cold cream is an emulsion of water and certain fats, usually including beeswax and various scent agents, designed to smooth skin and remove makeup. The emulsion is of a “water in oil” type unlike the “oil in water” type emulsion of vanishing cream, so-called because it seems to disappear when applied on skin. The name “cold cream” derives from the cooling feeling that the cream leaves on the skin. Variations of the product have been used for nearly 2000 years.

The best cold cream without mineral oil.  Neuth was founded because we were not able to find the best cold cream without mineral oil. After years of searching for a product to calm an oily T-zone and dry cheeks, we were so excited to find that cold cream did the trick.  Ridding endless breakouts and oily skin, cold cream seemed like a vintage dream come true. And then the ingredients were read. The very first ingredient was mineral oil which started the search for the best cold cream without mineral oil.

When we read the mineral oil as an ingredient, it sounded a bit innocuous, like the oil was made out of minerals, and we thought, “Well, minerals are good for you,”.  But just to check, we looked it up, and when we found that mineral oil is actually a petroleum by-product we were oh-so-sad.

Cold cream never started out with mineral oil.  It has been around since the ancient Greeks and in a nutshell, cold cream is oil and water mixed into a cream, or crème, as the case may be.  In addition to having amazing moisturizing properties, it also can cleanse away make-up and the dirt from the day, restoring skin to being luminous.

“We wanted to buy a cold cream without mineral oil. Being a by-product of petroleum production, mineral oil is more expensive to dispose of than selling it to be used in skin care products.  And to be clear, it is one of the least expensive ingredients that can be used in skin care products.  Beyond the petroleum association though, we wanted to avoid mineral oil because of the skin clogging effects it has, as well as it’s harmful effects on the body when it seeps through the skin (as we know all skin care products do) into the body.”

So, although we were sad that our favorite type of cold cream had mineral oil, we thought that it wouldn’t be too hard to find one without.  And thus began the search.  After extensive research, looking at pricey brands, inexpensive brands and all those in between, we couldn’t find a cold cream product without mineral oil.  The Environmental Working Group was a tremendous asset as I sifted through cleansing cold cream after cleansing cold cream.

Finally, frustrated that something wasn’t in the market that would gently cleanse and calm our skin, we started to research how to make one.  After a lot of experiments, and using friends and family as guinea pigs, Crème pour Visage was perfected.

We’ll explain why each ingredient was carefully chosen to nourish your skin, and of course we only use organic ingredients to help ensure that you are receiving the most potent formulation while supporting sustainable agriculture and fair-trade. Because it’s the right thing to do.

Housed in dark violet glass to protect the precious ingredients and prolong the potency, Neuth’s Organic Crème pour Visage looks as elegant on a countertop as it will make you feel with each use.

We suggest massaging a quarter sized amount of Neuth’s Organic Crème pour Visage to your face, neck and décolleté. We recommend smiling at yourself in the mirror as you do so. Run the tap water hot and wet a washcloth. Wipe all of Neuth’s Organic Crème pour Visage away, follow with Neuth’s Organic Afterglow Serum.

Neuth’s Organic Crème pour Visage is lovingly made in small batches with the finest, organic ingredients that are sustainably harvested by Fair-Trade Certified suppliers, to nourish you inside and out. Organic Rosehip Oils hand-blended with Organic Unrefined Coconut Oil and lavender essential oil, grown without the use of chemicals.

Some Suggestions From The Creator:

— Make sure you are using a good enough amount, so that the Creme can be massaged well into your skin. It’s the process of the oils in the Creme reacting to the make-up that removes everything, so you want to make sure that you are thoroughly massaging it in.

— This isn’t a quick rinse product, it is supposed to be an indulgent and relaxing experience, so please take your time as you massage the Creme into your skin.

— Remember to run the water hot, then we suggest saturating a washcloth. Once the washcloth is wet, squeeze out the excess water, then lay the washcloth on your face for a moment, to feel the warmth and steam radiate off. After doing so, use the washcloth to remove all Creme. All make-up products should be removed at that point.

— Make-up like water-proof mascara and eyeliner come off with ease, just remember to massage the Creme into the skin so that it can work.

About The Product Being Not Vegan:

Neuth uses both lanolin and beeswax, making the Creme not vegan; it is something that we researched extensively, as well as looked into other options.

We found that in order to keep the correct consistency, both ingredients are needed; however, we are committed to our vegan fans, and look forward to releasing a vegan version later this year. In the meantime, we’ve gone with the best and most ethical supplier we’ve been able to find at this point.

The lanolin that we use is tested for pesticide residues in the parts per million and it is a USP pharmaceutical material, which means that when the lanolin is tested in the parts per million, it tests at less than 10 ppm, which meets the standards set forth by the USP.

Also, something to keep in mind is that only 0.2% (so less than 1%) of our Creme pour Visage is made up of lanolin.

Housed in dark violet glass, to protect the precious ingredients and prolong the potency, Neuth’s Organic Afterglow Serum looks as elegant on a countertop as it will make you feel with each use.

With your skin still damp from wiping away Neuth’s Organic Crème pour Visage, we recommend placing 2 – 3 pumps of Neuth’s Organic Afterglow Serum into the palms of your hands, and rub to coat the palms, then gently massage Neuth’s Organic Afterglow Serum into your face, neck and décolleté.
