Organic growers are not supposed to use chemical pesticides, herbicides or man-made fertilizers on crops. Yet an organic certification does allow farmers to use animal waste, including blood meal and bone meal, to fertilize fields. Some organic farms purchase these animal by-products from slaughterhouses and other non-organic sources. The animals have been given antibiotics and hormones throughout their lives, and exposed to pesticides and other chemicals.

 

Every grower who helps make One Degree foods uses veganic growing methods only.

Ingredients
  1. - 2 1/2 cups One Degree Organic Oats
  2. - 1 cup One Degree Organic Whole Wheat Sprouted Flour
  3. - 1 cup brown sugar
  4. - 2 tbsp Jem Cinnamon Red Mac Butter
  5. - 2 tsp baking soda
  6. - 1 tbsp of vanilla extract
  7. - 1 tbsp cinnamon
  8. - 2 tsp flax flour
  9. - 1 cup margerine
  10. - 1 cup raisins
Instructions
  1. - Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. - Take butter, brown sugar, Jem nut butter, blend 3 minutes, and vanilla extract, make egg substitute by combing flax flour and tbs of water, blend
  3. - Take dry ingredients, oatmeal, whole wheat flour, cinnamon, raisins, baking soda, mix together.
  4. - Combine wet with dry, shape, and place in middle rack of oven, bake 15-20 minutes

 I used these organic green lentils (along with flax/hemp/sunflower seeds) to make homemade veggie burgers and they turned out wonderful!!
