Did you know that some skincare specialists recommend using a face mask at least once a week?

For thousands of us, the act of remembering to cleanse the skin nightly before bed can be a daunting task.. and the idea of remembering to use a mask seems nearly impossible.

(I was once that person)

Though I can’t sleep without showering or washing my face, I do tend to stray from using a face mask on the regular..

That was until I discovered Phenome Blossom face mask.. If you need to break into the world of face masks, this one you won’t be able to forget, because its just.. THAT. GOOD.

Since falling head over heels for Phenome I had the pleasure of also testing their Sugar Peel mask, umm.. YES, and over the past few months I’ve been testing their Happy Eye Area Lightener eye cream!

Collection of bottles of health and beauty products

Though forgetful about some things, I’m an eye cream obsessor..

I could have an eye cream for every hour of the day and still need more lol

Curious how I feel about the Phenome eye cream?!

Nature is our inspiration. Our skin care products are formulated almost exclusively with remarkably effective, natural and organic active ingredients combined with life-giving plant waters. We do not use any of the synthetic compounds commonly used in the cosmetics industry that are detrimental to our planet and, as the latest research suggests, may also be detrimental to our health.

According to Phenomé trusting in Nature does not mean a return to traditional, simple cosmetic manufacturing technologies. We make use of the latest scientific knowledge concerning the needs of the skin, innovative clean plant extraction technologies, and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes that meet pharmaceutical standards.

Most importantly, we treat Nature like we would our best friend. Drawing on its resources, we make sure we do no harm Nature or anyone else involved in the manufacture of our products. This is why most of the renewable plant-sourced raw materials we utilize originate from ecological plantations, and the communities which grow the plants for us receive fair prices for their produce. At the same time, we make every endeavor not to upset the balance of the natural environment when manufacturing, distributing and selling our products.

I was concern about the above ingredient as it was listed in the book of skincare toxins as an irritant. Come to find out, this ingredient just like the others listed above is a natural form.

(if you ever are concerned about a product ingredient, ALWAYS reach out to them with your inquiries)

Company Response:

Limonene Phenome uses is a naturally occurring component found in essential oils and is approved by ECOCERT (a very strict European organic certification organization). The Limonene listed in the Consumer’s Dictionary of Cosmetic Ingredient is in its synthetic form.

Main Ingredient

Botany and origin

Lemon water is made from the rind of the fruit of the lemon tree called Citrus limonum. Cultivated in areas such as southern Spain, the lemon is a thorny tree of the rue family (Rutaceae) which grows up to 3.6 meters in height. The root is strong and yellowish in color. The trunk is straight, with numerous slightly thorny branches. The alternate, long and tapered leaves are yellow-green and shiny. Flowers are white inside and tinged with deep pink outside, solitary or clustered, and the fruit is a yellow ovoid berry with a pitted outer rind.

The lemon tree is extremely sensitive to low temperatures. Since the plant is almost continuously in bloom, it requires a climate where ground frost never occurs. The largest plantations are located in the USA, Italy, Mexico, Greece and Spain.

Cultivation history: Lemon was brought to Mesopotamia from southeastern Asia ca. in the 5th century. Arabs took it to Palestine in the 10th century. From there, it traveled to Italy with the Crusaders.

Thanks to alpha hydroxy acids and essential oils, lemon peel water shows purifying, hydrating and relaxing properties. In addition, vitamin C fortifies blood vessel walls and improves their resistance. Lemon peel water also improves the integrity of the collagen structure of the dermis, which fights superficial skin aging. Lemon peel distillate is used in moisturizing, purifying and anti-aging products
