HELLO AND HAPPY MONDAY!!

I WANTED TO SHARE WITH YOU MY NEW FOUND LOVE FOR NATURAL DEODORANTS!!

THIS COMPANY IS BY FAR ONE OF THE MOST CREATIVE AND INNOVATIVE BRANDS ON THE MARKET!!

SOME MAY PONDER THE IDEA OF BUYING AN ALL NATURAL DEODORANT, BUT MANY MAY ASK THEMSELVES… WHY?!

images-1

The main culprit in toxic deodorants on the market today is aluminum, which is sadly found in the vast majority. Along with the other harsh toxins aluminum can be absorbed through the sweat glands and into the skin to produce harmful effects.

What kind of effects you may ask?

Aluminum at the very least has been linked with Alzheimer’s disease; that’s reason enough to avoid it right there. Sadly, it doesn’t stop there. Many studies indicate that aluminum found in most antiperspirants can actually mimic estrogen within the body. This lifetime exposure to estrogen happens to be the risk factor most commonly associated with breast cancer. Certainly something to avoid at all costs.

ABOUT THEM

Crafted by hand in the Pacific Northwest, Schmidt’s Deodorant is made from a signature blend of 100% all natural ingredients that really works. Our formula effectively neutralizes underarm odor and absorbs wetness without the use of aluminum or other harmful chemicals. With a unique and enticing range of natural scent combinations like Bergamot + Lime, Cedarwood + Juniper, Ylang-Ylang + Calendula,

Schmidt’s Deodorant was developed out of the desire to end dependence on commercial brands that are often out of touch with the needs of today’s consumer. Based in Portland, Oregon, the company launched in 2010 with an extended line of body care products. Encouraged by customer feedback and demand, Schmidt’s quickly found its niche in the natural deodorant market.

NOT SURE IF YOUR DEODORANT IS HARMING YOU?!

Beware of these primary offenders:

Aluminum compounds Found only in antiperspirants, aluminum zirconium and aluminum chlorohydrate work by blocking pores that release sweat. Aluminum, like other heavy metals, may interfere with the ability of estrogen receptors to correctly process the hormone. Propylene glycol Because this ingredient functions as a penetration enhancer, it can be more harmful when paired with other chemical additives. The ingredient—even in concentrations as low as 2 percent—provokes skin irritation in some people, yet manufacturers can create a product with 50 percent propylene glycol content. Believe it or not, you’re likely to find this in many “natural” deodorants. Triclosan Used as an antibacterial agent and preservative, triclosan reacts with tap water to create chloroform gas, a potential carcinogen. Triclosan also exhibits endocrine-disrupting properties in marine animals—which should concern everyone because it also has shown up in human breast milk and blood. Steareths Usually listed with a number (like steareth-15), these additives come from a cheap process that makes harsh ingredients more mild. The process (known as ethoxylation) produces carcinogenic 1,4-dioxanes during manufacturing.   Mineral salts Ammonium or potassium alum, the ingredients in solid crystal deodorants, work by constricting the protein in sweat so that malodorous bacteria have less to feed on. Clay and powders Clay minerals such as kaolin and bentonite and natural powders like cornstarch or arrowroot help absorb moisture. Astringents Witch hazel, sage, alcohol, and other astringents work by evaporating the moisture on the skin and constricting the pores. They are usually used in conjunction with essential oils that have antibacterial properties.
