StephenSwingsBetterBody Foods Founder and CEO Stephen Richards has always loved to cook. Coming from a family of diabetics, he is always looking for better ways to manage his diet and health. He understand that better foods make better bodies. In 2007 Stephen was introduced to agave nectar and was immediately impressed.

He traveled to the central region of Mexico where agave is grown and spent time with the farmers and industry experts there learning about the product and its benefits. After several years, Stephen had developed his own brand of agave nectar and began selling it to small local retailers. BetterBody Foods was born.

As the business began to grow, Stephen continued his search for new healthy foods. He saw how cooking with coconut oil could truly revolutionize how you eat. With help from coconut growers in the Philippines, India and Sri Lanka he brought organic coconut oil, and later coconut flour and coconut palm sugar, into the BetterBody Foods family of products.

Out of all of the Better Body Foods products that I’ve sampled, the PB Fit is my favorite! For those who are looking to limit their sat fat intake or even are experiencing gall bladder issues and have to limit their fats all while still craving the classic peanut butter flavor, this product will be your go to!

You can use it in shakes, desserts, or simply add almond milk or water to create the consistancy of peanut butter to enjoy with whatever your heart desires!

Also, with this version its more transportable and doesn’t spoil as fast!

About PBFit

PB-Fit-8oz-07001-01PBfit Regular is a delicious, low fat powdered peanut butter made from gently roasted peanuts. We extract about 85% of the oil from the peanuts and grind them to a powder. We add a pinch of sugar and a dash of salt to create a delicious powder that is chock full of flavor.

Combine PBfit and water for a healthy peanut butter spread that is one third the calories and 85% less fat than traditional peanut butter. PBfit makes a great dip for apples, bananas, celery and pretzels. Throw a few scoops into your smoothie, yogurt or oatmeal to add a flavorful protein boost. You can also replace some of the flour in your baked goods to make PB muffins, pancakes and brownies.

Hi everyone! Today I am reviewing some products from BetterBody Foods, which is a company that creates all natural and organic foods for cooking, baking, and for overall health and wellness.

We cook a lot in my house. (Being married to a chef has its perks! ) I just started cooking with coconut oil instead of using butter, and I can already tell the different my body feels after I eat. Coconut oil is one of the healthiest oils in the world, naturally antibacterial and anti fungal, cholesterol free, and a great natural source of energy!

I tried both the Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and the Naturally Refined Coconut Oil, and while both oils are equally delicious and healthy, there are a few differences.

The Extra Virgin Coconut Oil comes from FRESH coconut meat, which leaves the oil with a light coconut flavor and aroma. The Naturally Refined Coconut Oil comes from DRIED coconut meat, which has a very neutral flavor that will not affect the taste of your foods. This coconut oil if perfect for high heat cooking, like deep frying, searing, and making delicious stir fries. Also great in baking when you want a healthier version but not the coconut taste. The Organic Extra Virgin Coconut oil is great for medium heat, perfect for baking!

I was also introduced to Coconut Flour. It is made from ground coconut, which is gluten free, low glycemic, and is also 60% dietary fiber, which makes it perfect for low carb and paleo diets. I made my girls the Apple Cheddar Breakfast Muffins from the BetterBody Foods website, and my own raw vegan peanut butter cookies that turned out great! Recipe below!

Another great product from BetterBody Foods, is their Organic Coconut Palm Sugar. This healthy sugar comes from the nectar of the flower that grows on the coconut tree. It contains amino acids, potassium, magnesium, iron, zinc, and B vitamins. It is absolutely delicious and I use it for everything, from baking, in my coffee, and even for a sugar scrub for my body! And I love that it contains zero nitrates and is GMO free!

The Organic Agave is also a great sweetener from BetterBody Foods. It comes from the nectar of the agave plant, and while most companies process out the natural fiber from the nectar, they do not. I have been using this sweetener a lot in place of honey, especially adding a tiny bit to steamed carrots for my girls! It is very sweet, so a little goes a long way! Great healthy alternative to white sugar or syrup!

The Organic Bourbon Madagascar Vanilla is absolutely divine! It is the finest quality vanilla in the world, making it a bakers dream! It has a sweet velvety flavor and smells delicious! I used vanilla in almost every recipe I bake, but BetterBody Foods has an array of different uses on their website from homemade lotions to aromatherapy. Such a great product!

The Organic Quinoa Medley is delicious! We LOVE quinoa in my house and eat it at least once a week. This blend is made up of white, red, and black grains, containing all 9 essential amino acids. One serving has 6 grams of protein! We cook ours with sautéed Kale and some roasted tofu! Delicious!

Chia seeds, or “super hero seeds” we call them in our house, are packed with protein, omega-3s, fiber, calcium, and tons of other essential vitamins and minerals! I use them in almost EVERYTHING! From smoothies, pancakes, yogurt, salads, to even baking them in cookies and muffins. I also just learned you can use 1 tablespoon of chia seeds with 3 tablespoons of water, soaked for 5 minutes, and it becomes a gel to replace a egg in a recipe! How neat!

My favorite products from BetterBody Foods is their PBfit Peanut Butter Powder! I got to try both the regular peanut butter and the chocolate peanut butter. This was my first time ever trying powdered peanut butter and now I’m hooked! Not only is it one third of the calories of traditional peanut butter but also 85% less fat, making it delicious and healthy! I added it to my smoothies and even mixed it with water making it a delicious spread for sandwiches and dip for my daughters. The chocolate PBfit is incredible 🙂

We also made a raw vegan version of old school peanut butter cookies or bites that turned out delicious! Check out the recipe!

Thanks to BetterBody Foods, we absolutely love all of your products and I highly recommend them to anyone that wants a healthier and natural food option for a happy and heathy life!
